Classic French Vinaigrette

The vinaigrette I grew up on

A staple of every French household. Adjust the quantity of oil to your liking. I like a tangier dressing so usually only add 5 tbsp of olive oil instead of 6 if I use this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tbsp mustard
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • Pepper

Method

I recommend using an empty jar, closing the lid tightly and shaking ingredients to mix. You’ll obtain a homogenous mix in no time.

  1. Mix mustard, vinegar together with a pinch of salt (this ensures that the salt dissolves in the vinegar).
  2. Add olive oil and mix until combined.
  3. Add pepper to taste.
